Duncan Coutts

Bassist/Keyboard
BIRTHDAY: February 4th
FROM: Toronto, On
EDUCATION: Ridley College, University of Toronto

Duncan will be forever known as the "new guy". After taking over for Chris Eacrett in 1995 Duncan had the uneasy task of replacing OLP's departing bassist. However Duncan was not a total rookie to the band scene, he had previously been playing with a band called "Blue Heavies". Duncan was also classmates with Raine at Ridley College and his attitude worked wonderfully with the band's current chemistry. Duncan had declined an invitation to join the band earlier on, then after a short bout with "Pete Best" syndrome he was given the opportunity to re-join the band on their sophomore release "Clumsy".

-Duncan was a welcomed addition to the band in 1995 after the departure of Chris Eacrett

-Before the recording of "Clumsy" Duncan had the band stay at his family cottage to write the new songs. Raine was quoted as saying "It was so nice to be in a place where you could wake up and there would be an acoustic guitar sitting in your lap".

-Duncan's Keyboarding skills were also welcomed on Clumsy's title track.

"When we make an album, we're really judicious about what we let people hear. We'll have a song and then we'll say this is pretty good and someone will say I don't know. Then we sort of reevaluate."
