Jeremy Taggart is the force behind the staggering beats on OLP's two CD's. His unique drumming has propelled Our Lady Peace to the top of the charts and has led himself to the top of the drumming world sporting two Drummer of the week awards from DRUMMER magazine. His trademark Solid-Frame glasses have become a popular trend among our four-eyed OLP fans. Jeremy was the replacement for Our Lady Peace's virtually un heard of first drummer Jim Newell. He auditioned along with a crowd of 100 and was handpicked to be the best. One catch...he was only 17 at the time which put the band in an awkward position when playing live considering his tender age. -Jeremy was picked the best percussionist out of a group of 100 auditioners. -Replaced OLP's first drummer Jim Newell -Has been described as "the 22-year old drummer whiz kid" (see article SHIFT magazine in MEDIA)
"I don't remember reading about the making of
Revolver or Sgt. Pepper or whatever and talking about how The Beatles were racing cars around the parking lot," adds Taggart, adjusting his glasses. "I remember being amazed by the work ethic and the amount of time they spent on the songs."
