Arnold Lanni

Producer
BIRTHDAY: May 4th, 1956
HOMETOWN: Toronto, Ontario

The "5th member of the band" as some members have referred to him, Arnold has produced all of OLP's album thus far. Beginning with Naveed at his studio in Toronto, and following up 3 years later with Clumsy which earned him a best producer nod at the 1998 Juno's. However Arnold is not just some button-pusher behind the scenes. He assisted in writing much of the material on both Naveed and Clumsy. In addition to producing OLP, Finger 11 and other alternative acts, Lanni has quite the musical history himself. Forming a band called "Sheriff" in 1979 and later signing to Capitol, he penned the band's first hit single "When I'm with You". The song hit #1 in Canada and #61 in 1982. Again in 1989 the song was resurrected and spent 30 weeks on the US charts catapaulting to #1 and selling half a million copies! Sherrif even toured with the legendary Beach Boys. Sheriff split up in 1985, Lanni went on to form his own act called "Frozen Ghost". Originally conceived to support the launch of Arnyard, Frozen Ghost signed to WEA and later releasing an album which spawned the hit "Should I See". Their second album also had two singles "Pauper In Paradise" & "Dream Come True". Frozen Ghost scored with a Juno in 1987 and later split up in 1993. Since then he has been producing albums and writing songs for alternative acts.

"At the beginning, we recorded a sampled piano, put it into my workstation, screwed around with the motion; in other words, instead of going left to right, we'd stop it, start it, stop it, start it, so that it sounded like a toy piano."
