Eve6, Our Lady Peace, Third Eye Blind.........Doesn't sound right
does it. Is rock ever fair though, I didnt't think so. But, what can you do. I
know, you can leave after the best band and go and get something to eat. For
most OLP fans in America that has been the plan of attack for all OLP shows.
Shall we look at the history....OLP, Sponge and CandleBox!!!!!!! Letters to
Cleo, OLP, and Everclear!!!!!! Well I guess when people say America has no
culture they are right on.
The last time Our Lady Peace played Cleveland they actually headlined,
and to say the least it was sensational. They packed a sold out Odeon concert
club, and played a hour and fifteen minute set that contained hits, album
songs, and a cover thrown in for spice. This time however they played a 30
minute set packed with almost all material from the bands second album,
"Clumsy". Although I am a fan, I have to say the band was not in their best
form. A thrown together set, sound problems.....(the guitar during "Automatic
Flowers" was barley audiable),and a obnoxious crowd made the show not one of
thier best, maybee not even one of their ok ones. It was of course Our Lady
Peace, and after the show I was grateful for seeing them. They kicked things
off with what else but "Automatic Flowers". All of their sets start of with
this amazing song, either that or "Car Crash", try "Story of 100 Aisles", it
my work. Back to the show.........."Supermans Dead" followed, the less known
"Hello Oskar" proceeded and sometimes overlooked "Let You Down", was banged
out next. "This song is callled Car Crash", Raine Maida said just before
singing a song in a key that would make Mariah Carrey blush. This song
however, went right over the crowds head, it smaked me right dab in the temple
though, I was in awe as the dreamy bass turned into distorted guitars, and so
on and so on. It was sing along time next, "4AM", and "Clumsy" the two songs
that can be foung plaguing the local radio station "107.9 The End". Then, what
is this I hear the lone "Naveed" song in the set '"Starseed"!!!!!!! "When I
find out what went on........", it was now sing along time for me,my
girlfriend ,and her friend, I went nuts=). "This our last
song".....What??????no "Naveed" no "Birdman", no "Hope"....Sh!@!!!!! What did
follow however was a absolutely chilling version of the Jeff Buckley
song,....."Eternal Life". Although Jeff Buckley is dead, Our Lady Peace gave
him "Eternal Life" by playing a song that made me heart drop and my arms
tingle.
