For starters, in my opinion the whole show was a success, and the sound system was right on the mark all night. To top it off it was a great evening to have a show outside by the river. Eve 6 put on a strong set, and are not bad for an up in coming band. Third Eye Blind also had a strong show with their set changes and high energy. All in all I was very impressed with them both.

SETLIST: Automatic Flowers/The Birdman/Superman's Dead/Car Crash/4AM
Clumsy/Starseed/Eternal Life

Our Lady Peace, this was the 8th time that I've had the pleasure of seeing them live, and once again they put on one hell of a show. I was right down front so I could see everything and take pictures, at this venue they let you bring cameras, I took a whole roll. Let's start when the crew was setting up, Mike was standing on the side of the stage, but with his new hair cut it took me a minute to recognize him. Then the guys came out to start their set, they all looked great, pretty happy even. I noticed that Jeremy got new glasses, which look really nice.

They all took their places and went right into Automatic Flowers, this is such a great song to start with. It definitely got the crowd going even though they were not too familiar with it. During the song I clicked off a picture of Mike, he seen me and started laughing at me. It was nice to be noticed. From there Raine said his hellos and said that they were excited about coming to Richmond, that was cool to hear. Then he introduced the next song to be The Birdman. They all really got into this one, Raine was all over the stage, and was trashing around in circles by the end of the song.

After that they went into Supermans Dead, this is a crowd favorite thanks to the heavy airplay the local radio station give it and Clumsy. So by now anyone that wasn't moving before was jumping up and down singing along. Then they got to the "does anybody ever know" part and they stop for a second and Raine asks if we are ready to sing, everyone screamed. Then in unison everybody jumped in and sang along, the guys looked pleased. Next came Car Crash, Raine went into some detail explaining the song and it be about a friend trying to kill herself on some dark country road. I love this song live!, ever since the first time I seen them and they played it. With Raine's vocal acrobatics, he puts me and everyone else into a state of sheer amazement. I could tell by the people behind me saying "wow" when he hits those high notes.

Then Raine introduced 4am as a song about "stupid regrets", a few lighters went up as they played, it sounded great. From there they went into Clumsy, everybody there knew this one. It was nice to see hands waving and hear everyone singing along. Toward the end of the song during the last chorus everyone was singing along and Raine just stopped singing and was listening to us, he smiled and said thank you and finished the song. After that they played Starseed, which sounded awesome as always.

Then to finish up the set they did Eternal Life, but before they actually started to play, Raine went into an explanation of whose song it was and it being Jeff Buckley's, and he talked of his tragic death in a river not too much bigger than the one that ran behind the island we were on. He then said over and over that it was from Grace and by Jeff Buckley and that if we did not have it in our collection that we should get it. He then said "Do you get my point?" A lot of people yelled "yes". Being a fan of Jeff Buckley, I was really glad to see them cover his work. And they do and amazing job of it too, I think Jeff would be proud and honored by their efforts. To say the least the show kicked major ass. OLP are so talented and I can't wait to see them again.
