Our Lady Peace were touring in Europe not too long ago so I friend and I decided it wouold be nice to catch one of their shows.  So after a few months of planning and scraping avery penny possible we found ourselves in London England in a very tiny club with about 200 other fans.  What follows pretty much sums up the show.

The show was at the Borderline in London England which is basically a little hole in the wall with a sign saying "The Borderline".  We went a few days before the show just to check it all out and make sure we could find it.  So at 8pm the night of the concert there's a LONG line outside. It was a sold out show, even still that was only 2 to 3 hundred people.  Of course we were first in line and dying to get inside. Doors FINALLY open and we go DOWNSTAIRS for the show.  Picture this I hit the bottom of the stairs turn right and there is this little tiny stage.  It was amazing.  After seeing OLP in a multitude of venues from large clubs to boats to arenas this was so small it blew me away.  Naturally we head for front row center and settle in for the wait. We were leaning on some of the equipment sitting on the stage trying not to move it during the show, Raine was like 2 feet from us, hell Jeremy was closer than Raine usually is! .....DEFINITELY NOT what I'm used to!  Moorehaven opened not a bad group.  Out come the roadies and set the stage.

Then all of a sudden......
What I've been waiting for.....
What I've come Thousands of miles to hear
do do do do do..................AUTOMATIC FLOWERS!!!!!!
In my humble opinion there is no better way to start out a set!
Birdman was next
Superman's Dead which the audience did a wonderful job of singing.
Naveed, again LOTS of audience participation.
Car Crash- "This is a song about a car crash so we called it Car Crash" said Raine jokingly before the song.  I think he was in a good mood for the show.
Carnival
Let You Down
4am
Starseed- I think by this point OLP themselves were impressed with the audience.  Raine let us sing a lot during these two.
OLP leave the stage but I don't think that anyone there thought that it was over for a second.
OLP OLP OLP OLP OLP OLP - The standard call for more music
Out they come again for Clumsy and Eternal Life - Out of all the covers they do this is one of my personal favorites.
I've mentioned it a few times before but the crowd was unbelievable.  We were front row center.  People should have been trying to kill us to get out spots but there was no moshing. No surfing.  It just goes to prove that people can have fun without having to kill each other.  And they knew almost every song.  Somewhat surprising considering that the debut single (Superman's Dead) isn't released until the 29th of June!

As I've said before this was an amazing show. The level of interaction and intimacy in a show like this is something that no band, no matter how good they are, can duplicate in an arena situation.  I feel like one of the lucky ones that has seen OLP as they should bee seen, up close and personal.
