September 16th- We're back! I know alot of you are used to every day updates to the site, but recent time constraints and various failures have prevented that for that we apologize :) However, things seem to be back on track and we do have alot on our plate here, for one with a new album come a bunch of new guitar tabs and a bunch of new lyrics and album information and new album art etc. etc. In addition we get to overhaul a bunch of other things that have since become outdated :) Fun! Fun! Fun! But on to the news, of which there is alot of, so I thought I'd be organized today and put the news bits under different headings! Feel free to clap loudly for my brand new innovation....although people might think your weird clapping at your computer... hey well I guess they can deal with it on to news:
ARTICLES TOURING OLP will be playing the Toronto SkyDome on September 21st. What was first a secret fan club show has now been turned into a promotion for a beer company. The only way to get into the 'Blueline' show is to either win a Blueline pass from Labatt Blue or to win one of the 50 passes from the PPU. Good Luck!

September 9th- Hello All! We here at OLP.net are not MIA..but just a bit busy getting into the swing of things! READY...SET..DIAL!! That's right! By now all PPU members should have been informed of the new contest date, good luck! We also have information (it's more than likely actually), from a friendly source, that OLP will not be conducting their interview from any of the Edge buildings, but from another location..sorry to all those hoping to catch a glimpse. We'll let you know if we hear anything else about it. Courtesy of Rich and Shelley's OLP page , OLP is in Billboard Magazine...pretty cool, check it out! OLP OLP is also fast approaching! All those on the guest list should have received notification last night about location and time! Look forward to meeting some of you! And finally..One Man Army made it's video debut yesterday afternoon on Much Music. Those windows must have hurt!!!! :) |

UPDATE- Just got the new Buzzwords mailing list there is another interesting OLP tidbit in there: TWITCH! Pay attention if you're a fan of Our Lady Peace: Starting next Tuesday, September 7, you can pre-order their incredible new album 'Happiness... Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch' online! If you do, you'll receive a very cool army patch (as in their hot new single, "One Man Army" < -- get it?) For more info, drop by http://www.ourladypeace.com next week!
September 3- Its been a busy week for OLP news and I suppose we should start
off by stopping the heads of all PPU members from spinning. Those of you in the PPU were probably
dialing your phones like mad at 12 this morning only to be greeted by a "This mailbox is full"
message. Well as it turns out you weren't the only one! Everyone got that message and we heard back
from [email protected] today; heres what they had to say:
Date: Fri, 03 Sep 1999 14:10:14 -0400
Hi guys,
The PPU just got in touch with me. Unfortunately, they have been experiencing difficulties with the
voicemail. The contest will be rescheduled for another date.
The company that owns the voicemail box has been unable to rectify the problem. As I write this, the
fanclub is signing up with a new voicemail company. The toll free number will remain the same. The local
Toronto number is changing to.
The PPU will know by Tuesday what the new contest date will be. They will post the new information by
Tuesday on ourladypeace.com, clumsycongress.com and on the Transparent Humans mailing list.
Sorry,
Nat
-In other news Ebay has pulled all advance copies of
Happiness from the auction block. The reasons were somethign along the lines of copyright infringement
etc. In other words somebody from the OLP or sony camp had a word with Ebay and now they are not
listed.
-Exciting news for all of you in the Toronto area and for all OLP fans period. OLP will be appearing on
Live in Toronto on Edge 102 on September 20th.
The day before the album comes out. Perhaps we can look for an acoustic performance which is not uncommon
on LIT.
-Also CDNOW is taking advance orders for Happiness..... is not a fish that you can catch. These orders
are for the 28th release date. Americans may be better off purchasing from HMV.COM who will be selling the new OLP on its Canadian release date :)
-BTW heres a picture of the Drums Etc. magazine who Jeremy Taggart graces the cover of this month.
This courtesy of Rich and Shelley's OLP page if you haven't been go now....if you haven't picked up the mag yet the 5 page article describes Jeremy's drumming in detail (technique kit etc.) and also reveals that he played on some drum overdubs for Chantal Kreviazuk's new album! Theres some OLP trivia for you :)

OLP.NET has also obtained the tracklisting in order for the new album! Click to our page of Happiness... for all the details!
September 1st- Check out the September edition of DRUMMERS-ET CETERA to find none
other than Jeremy Taggart as the "cover drummer". In the article, he talks about the changes that were

We have official confirmation from a Sony official that OLP will NOT be playing those shows! OLP will likely tour Canada in the new year. In other OLP news, they were mentioned in this months Kerrang! magazine in England and that tidbit is transcribed in Rick Moore's Eurowatch. July 26- Alright, if you weren't at Woodstock you can catch the setlist and a bit of news on OLP's next tour in Tourwatch. Keep your eyes on Tourwatch for more reviews, photos and notes from Woodstock.

July 22- Well thats perhaps the oddest headline in the small history of this site. However, it is fitting as is obvious with these news bits: #1. As announced today in a post on the Clumsy Congress by Mike Turner himself, the CC will be relocating to www.clumsycongress.com Former OLP.NET webmasters Kate & Stacy will be helping out with this new site. Our congratulations go out to them :) For a transcription of Mike's post (which includes perhaps an inadvertant OLP.NET plug) click here. #2. Also after happening by Woodstock.com we came across another sort of congress. Its a Woodstock discussion forum about as thay say "Canada's Fave's" or OLP in other words. #3. Now I bet you're all wondering about the 'Blue Men'. Well at the shows OLP recently played they showcased a brand new keyboard player, who is being referred to as a touring member. His name is Jamie Edwards and is a former Blue Man. We are working on digging up some info on Jamie but all we've heard so far is that he's worked with Josh Clayton and toured with a troupe called Blue Man Group. Those links will bring you more information about those two and hopefully give you a little better idea of what kind of musician Jamie is. Until the record comes out we have no clue :) Hope that tides you over! #4. Also worth mentioning is the Woodstock Webcast. You need to sign up now so run on over to Woodstock.com and tune your browsers in at 2:20 on Sunday to check out OLP's performance! Also OLP.NET wishes to welcome a new webmaster into the fold! Rick and myself are proud to introduce Sara Petrevan as another one of our helping hands. She will be performing regular site duties in addition to responding to your questions and comments and splitting the votes between Rick and I! Welcome Sara!

July 18- First off lets get rid of any mystery surrounding the new album. As of last night and this morning's article we have what we believe to be a near complete tracklisting. Here we go: One Man Army/Happiness and the Fish/Potato Girl/Blister/Is Anybody Home?/Waited/Lying Awake/Annie/Stealing Babies All were played at the show at the Horseshoe last night and those OLP.NET regulars new about it as of 2 pm yesterday! I hope all of those who could make the show had a good time and for those who were too late, stay tuned! You never know when we'll come across juicy info like that again! For the transcripted article click here. Also you can all check out OLP at the Woodstock webcast! For those of you with Windows Media Player you can check out the show online at Woodstock.com absolutely free albeit poor quality. You can also check the show out on Pay Per View or Viewers Choice in Canada. OLP play Sunday from 2:20 to 3:20. Also revealed at the show last night was another member of OLP. It is believed at this time that he is only a touring musician. His name is Jamie Edwards, and he played keyboard last night, he also recorded a song with OLP on the new album but from people who spoke with Mike Turner last night he allegedly said he is not a full-fledged member of the band. Other bits of interest: the name "Bellyflop Communist" is according to the sun a silly name the band made up but more acurately it is a name made up by Edwards. Hopefully we will have a pic up for you soon...watch Tourwatch for more developments!
