02/11/2003 - "Rest and Recuperation"
by Stace
So here I am, safe and sound and rested after the tour. Let me fill you in on what weve been up to over the last few days. We left Montreal around Midnight on the 5th because two of our bus-mates had to catch a flight in Toronto. We pulled into Toronto around 6am and headed back to my place for a nap. Later in the day we had to do a bunch of running around and tour wrap up stuff.
The next day we headed off to Rochester for you guessed it - another OLP show! This time we were there to work, but we didnt have as much to do so we were able to enjoy the show some more. It was a completely different vibe than the arena shows, much smaller and more intimate. We got some great pictures, youll be able to see them on ourladypeace.net soon.
Tanya flew home on Sunday, so we spent most of the day packing or waiting at the airport. I vegged out most of the day yesterday and got some rest from the last three weeks. Now Im ready to get back to work and get all the content weve been working on for the past three weeks up on the site.
When we started fearofthetrailerpark.com the idea was to do daily updates and put things up as it happened. What happened was a little different. Tanya and I focused more on getting the content together, running soundchecks, giving away tickets and lots of other things and we got so busy that the only time to upload thing was on the bus as we were traveling to the next city. If youve ever tried to upload things on a cell phone data connection youll know why that didnt work out.
So it ends up that we got a ton of great stuff for all the sites that will be going up this week. Theres lots of video to be encoded, but that will take a little longer. Ill get it all up there, just bear with me. Duncan, Jeremy, Raine and Steve all did some video clips talking about the how the tour went and other things so I cant wait to get that out to everyone.
Overall, it was a long, tiring, stressful, and insane three weeks and it was the most fun Ive ever had. Id do it again in a heartbeat! Now that Ive done it once I know a lot more about what to expect on a tour and how to handle all the demands on my time. Maybe Ill actually be able to pull off running a website and being on tour all at once next time!
Thanks for sticking with me so far. Stay tuned for all the updates!
