02/01/2003 - "2 Shows & A DVD"
by Tanya

If you didnt know by now, In Calgary and Edmonton OLP filmed the shows for an upcoming live DVD. Being able to see this process happen was really exciting. The venue was filled with cameras, cables and film crew. Everyone was buzzing around preparing for the evening. Stace and I were worried that we might be in the way, but it was all good. We werent able to shoot many pictures from the photo pit, but we did get some sweet stuff from the back. I even made sure to include some shots that include the cameras. That way you all can kind of see the making of the DVD. Besides the craziness of all the crew and such both shows went fantastic! Seether, Finger Eleven, and The Trailer Park Boys all kicked ass as they always do. I really love the line up for this tour, all the bands compliment each other very well. I will truly hate to see it end. Ok, back to the DVD. Each show was a bit different, but equaling exciting. Calgary was to say the least a room of pure energy, the crowd was terrific and the band fed off of that, giving the performance of a lifetime. Those concert goers are going to remember that show for a long, long time! WOW!, is all I can think of to describe the evening. My only complaint about Calgary was the insane amount of steps in the venue, I think I ran up and down enough steps to equal a 3 hour step aerobics class. But now that I can feel my legs again, Im better. Edmonton was also a terrific show. The crowd was just as loud as Calgary if not louder. It was an experience in itself to hear all those people cheer for OLP. Oh, and the lights were so gorgeous! I swear Brent is a genius; every song is lit with the perfect tones to match its mood. Great lights make a show that much more enjoyable. Speaking of lights, we were able to stand at the back of the sound/light board to watch the shows. While we were there, we got to peek at a monitor for all the cameras, and if the DVD looks anything like what we saw on the monitors it is going to kick major ass! Now, Im off to bed.

PS. Sorry for the delay in posting this, we had a tad bit of technical difficulties.
